Samsung Electronics Ukraine pledges free repair to thank the soldier for his service and trust in the brand

A Ukrainian soldier recently credited a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone with saving his life during combat, local media reported.

According to Ukrainian tech media outlet Mezha on June 6, a user shared the story in mid-May on Samsung Ukraine’s official website. Identifying himself as a soldier, he wrote that a large fragment hit his Galaxy S25 Ultra during shelling. “It pierced the screen, but got stuck in the strong titanium case and did not enter my body,” he said. “The phone literally became armor between me and the wound.”

He added that while the device protected him, it was unfortunate he had only used it for three weeks before it was destroyed.

Mezha noted, “Judging by the picture, the damage is quite serious,” adding that the S25 Ultra’s processor and motherboard, located near the top, could have been struck by the impact.

According to the media, Samsung Electronics Ukraine said they would cover the user’s loss. A local customer support staff thanked him for his service and said they would contact him by email about the damaged phone. When asked about follow-up measures, Samsung Electronics Ukraine told Mezha, “We will repair his device free of charge as a token of our gratitude for his service and trust in Samsung.”

This is not the first time such a case has been reported. In 2023, another Ukrainian soldier posted a video on TikTok showing a Samsung smartphone with a bullet hole, claiming it had saved a fellow soldier during battle.
