A 2.1-magnitude earthquake struck waters near Korea's southern Jeju Island on Tuesday morning at 11:33 a.m., said the state weather agency.
The underwater quake occurred 40 kilometers (24 miles) northeast of the island at a depth of 16 kilometers.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated that it does not expect any damage from the earthquake.
