epa02546989 A picture made available on 24 Janury 2011 of engineers working on the atomic clock that is now operational again in Braunschweig, Germany, 19 January 2011. One of the most important clocks of the world is back: The atomic clock CS2 at the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt. It had stopped working in September 2010 because the caesium that it needs to run had gone out. The clock had been running non-stop for 236 months which is longer than any other atomic clock. It now received a refuel of 10 grams of caesium and will be running without problems for the coming 20 years.
