An Incheon-bound Korean Air flight set to depart from Da Nang, Vietnam, on Sunday with more than 180 passengers on board was delayed due to maintenance required after the plane collided with a bird the same day.
Flight KE461, which left Incheon at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, arrived in Da Nang without casualties but required repairs for damage to the radar on the nose of the plane, Korean Air said Monday.
The same aircraft was scheduled to return to Incheon the same day with 184 passengers on flight KE462.
The passengers were divided between two planes: one leaving at 3:40 p.m. and another at 10:50 p.m. on Monday.
Korean Air explained that the delay was necessary to arrange flights for the passengers while considering scheduled airspace routes.
The carrier planned to send mechanics and parts from Incheon to repair the aircraft on Monday morning.
