Mauro Staccioli’s ‘88 Seoul Olympics’.
The Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO) is simultaneously hosting two sculpture exhibitions, “Place and Passage” and “Park, Rest, People,” at the SOMA Museum of Art in Olympic Park located in Songpa District, southeastern Seoul.

The exhibitions will run until February 16th, 2025 and aims to express how Olympic Park, steeped in history, connects with the present and advances into the future.

The “Place and Passage: An Old Story of Sculpture,” located in Exhibition Rooms 1 to 5 of the museum‘s first gallery, interprets sculptures as both “places” and “passages.” It explores how these sculptures interact with the spaces of the park and the museum.

The “Park, Rest, People,” held in the second gallery’s Exhibition Rooms 1 and 2, will have around 60 sculptures, installations, and video works by nine Korean artists.

The exhibition focuses on the themes of coexistence, healing, happiness, and harmony, inspired by the values of parks as spaces for rest and connection.
