GS E&C posts 41.8% jump in H1 OP

GS Engineering & Construction Corp. reported an operating profit of 232.4 billion won ($168 million) for the first half of 2025, up 41.8 percent from the same period last year, the company said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday.

Revenue for the six-month period fell 1.7 percent on-year to 6.25 trillion won. New orders came to 7.88 trillion won, reaching 55 percent of the company’s full-year guidance of 14.3 trillion won.

In the second quarter alone, revenue fell 3.1 percent on-year to 3.1 trillion won, while operating profit surged 73.5 percent to 162.1 billion won. However, the company swung to a net loss of 87.1 billion won.

By division, second-quarter revenue for the architecture and housing segment rose 6.9 percent from the previous quarter to 2.14 trillion won. Revenue from the infrastructure segment fell 9.9 percent to 311.3 billion won, while the plant division saw a 20.1 percent increase to 340.7 billion won.

“We are focusing on securing future growth drivers and profitability amid continued uncertainties at home and abroad,” the company said. “We will continue to strengthen fundamentals to support sustainable management.”
