Hongjoong of boy band Ateez has been chosen as the honorary ambassador for World Vision's Global 6K for Water campaign.
As the honorary ambassador, Hongjoong will spread the goodwill of the Global 6K for Water, a campaign dedicated to helping young children who have to walk over 6 kilometers (3.73 miles) every day to get clean water.
Hongjoong also took part in the campaign's virtual run event in 2024 and its marathon in 2025.
With the latest role, Hongjoong will promote the campaign around the world to raise awareness of it.
“It means so much to me to be here today because I have been working hard with World Vision to make this world a better place to live,” Hongjoong said after accepting a certificate from World Vision at the organization's headquarters in western Seoul on Thursday.
“As the honorary ambassador, I will work to encourage people's participation in the campaign and help in any way that I can. Thank you for this opportunity.”
Hongjoong's group Ateez will continue its “In Your Fantasy” tour with a concert in Macau on Saturday.
