Due to extremely high levels of air pollution, restrictive measures have been introduced in Strumica and Kicevo, and as of 19 December they are also in effect in Skopje. Authorities advise that pregnant women, people over the age of 60, and individuals with chronic conditions such as asthma or a history of heart attack or stroke should be excused from work.
