Protest of BNS trade union confederation against austerity measures

Up to 5.000 trade unionists from across the country, organized by National Trade Union Bloc (BNS) trade union confederation, participated in a protest in the Romanian capital today against the budget austerity measures taken by the Bolojan cabinet. Trade unionists demand indexation of salaries to the inflation rate, but also more respect for workers, whether it's county ambulance services, local public transport, those who work at the Railways or at Romanian Waters. The rally began in front of the government headquarters and then the unionists marched through the Bucharest downtown protesting in front of the Ministries of Economy, Labor, Internal Affairs, Health, Energy, Justice, and Finance.
