(MHN Reporter Lee Yun-bi) YUQI of girl group I-DLE has claimed the No.1 spot on the weekly album sales chart of global entertainment platform Ktown4u.

According to Ktown4u's sales data from September 8 to 14, YUQI's first solo single album 'Motivation' sold 28,474 copies, putting her at the top of the weekly chart.

'Motivation' officially drops on September 16 at 6 PM KST and marks YUQI's first solo release in approximately 17 months, following her 2023 mini-album 'YUQ1'.

The new single includes the title track 'M.O.', the song 'Afda', and its Mandarin version '还痛吗'('Hai Tong Ma').

The pre-released music video for 'Afda', which premiered on September 10, features Chinese actor Wang Anyu and has received a strong response in the Chinese-speaking market. 'Afda' highlights warm guitar tones and raw emotional lyrics that reflect the pain of parting.

The title track 'M.O.' is a boom bap-inspired hip-hop song that conveys a message of self-assurance driven by intuition rather than external expectations or rules. The track fuses vintage drum loops, a deep bass line, and YUQI's rich, grounded vocals.

The accompanying music video draws attention with its bold 1990s-inspired visuals. From retro hair salons and offices to surreal, dreamlike settings, the dynamic styling and vivid cinematography bring out YUQI's artistic flair.

YUQI's 'Motivation' will be available on all major streaming platforms starting at 6 PM KST on September 16.
