The original soundtrack “Golden” from Netflix’s hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters has entered the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time.

According to Billboard’s preview article published on July 14, “Golden”—performed by Huntr/x, the girl group featured in the film—climbed to No. 6 on the singles chart, jumping 17 spots from the previous week.

The Hot 100 ranks the most popular songs in the United States based on streaming activity, radio airplay, and sales. During the latest tracking period, “Golden” was streamed 18.8 million times, up 39% from the previous week. It recorded 950,000 airplay impressions and 3,000 in sales.

The song also debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. Billboard noted that this marks the first time a fictional artist has topped either of the two charts since they were introduced in 2020.

KPop Demon Hunters is a musical animated feature that follows Huntr/x, a popular girl group that defends the human world from evil spirits. The plot centers on their rivalry with Saja Boys—a boy band born in the spirit realm—as the groups battle for popularity and uncover the truth about their supernatural origins. Since its release last month, the film has reached No. 1 in Netflix’s global film category and sparked international buzz.

In addition to “Golden,” the film’s soundtrack features songs such as “Your Idol,” “How It’s Done,” and “Soda Pop,” which have all landed in the upper ranks of Spotify’s U.S. chart, reflecting the soundtrack’s global popularity.

According to U.S. outlets including Variety and Billboard, Netflix plans to submit “Golden” for Best Original Song at next year’s Academy Awards.
