LX Pantos Co., a South Korean logistics company, has partnered with LG Electronics Inc. to build a large-scale logistics center in the hinterland of Busan New Port.

LX Pantos announced on Thursday that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for the New Port Eco Logistics Center at the Busan New Port hinterland complex in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province.

The event was attended by LX Pantos Chief Executive Officer Lee Yong-ho, LG Electronics Vice President Wang Chul-min, and other officials from the region.

The facility will span a site area of 125,720 square meters, with a total investment of approximately 110 billion won ($79.85 million).

Completion is slated for December 2026. Upon completion, it is expected to be the largest logistics facility in Korea based on first-floor floor area, which will total 76,083 square meters.

LG Electronics has decided to invest 10 percent in the project consortium.

The initiative marks a strategic partnership between LX Pantos, a logistics arm within the broader LG Group, and LG Electronics, a major shipper, aimed at securing a key logistics base.

LX Pantos has been expanding its global logistics footprint by building and acquiring large-scale facilities in strategic locations, including Busan New Port, Incheon’s Cheongna district, and the state of Georgia in the United States.

The new center is expected to enhance the company’s contract logistics (CL) capabilities by offering integrated warehousing and distribution services for client companies in the South Gyeongsang region.

LG Electronics is also expected to benefit from improved logistics operations at Busan Port, one of Korea’s main hubs for import and export activity.

Since its separation from LG in 2022, LX Pantos has maintained close cooperation with LG Electronics in both domestic and international markets.

In Korea, it handles LG Electronics’ installation, relocation, and delivery of home appliances, and remains a key logistics partner in overseas markets such as the United States and Europe.

“Busan Port processes the world’s second-largest volume of transshipment cargo and plays a central role as a logistics hub in Northeast Asia, as well as a gateway to Arctic shipping routes,” said LX Pantos CEO Lee. “Through the New Port Eco Logistics Center, we aim to contribute to Busan Port’s rise as a global top-tier port.”
