As one of the leading boy groups in K-pop, RIIZE’s first album has garnered lots of attention from fans and the general audience. Ahead of the album’s official release, a 40-minutes cinematic film titled “RIIZING DAY: RIIZE PREMIERE” was unveiled. First released to the Weverse community on May 14, it was later screened in 27 theaters in South Korea, China, Japan, and Thailand, allowing global fans to experience the project on the big screen. “The members watched [the film] in theaters together, and it was emotional. We sat there recollecting the memories of everything we’ve been through.” Sungchan added, “The time between this album and our last album may have felt long or short depending for our fans (BRIIZE), but I’m happy BRIIZE seemed to appreciate the pre-lease with us.”

“ODYSSEY” expands on the group’s signature “real-time odyssey” concept, illustrating their internal and external growth as artists and individuals. The album features 10 tracks that showcase RIIZE’s unique genre: “emotional pop.” Anton described the album as “the first step towards our journey of blending the past and the future,” while Eunseok acknowledged the challenges to completing this album. “We incorporated a variety of genres, but the people around us encouraged us to follow through.”

The title track, “Fly Up,” is a high-energy dance song inspired by 1950s rock and roll. With its dynamic beat and uplifting message, the song encourages listeners to tear down any barriers for music. Sohee complimented the idea with his own take on the title track. “It’s a song that transcends age, gender, and nationality–anyone can enjoy it.”

Member Wonbin recalled his first impression of the title track: “I thought, ‘This is it. This is going to be a hit.’ It reminded me of ‘Get A Guitar,’ so I knew we could pull it off.” As the showcase featured the first-ever live performance of Fly Up, the members expressed excitement and anticipation. “Since this is our first full album, we put in a lot of work into it” elaborated Wonbin. Shotaro agreed, adding, “I can’t wait to see the joy on our fans’ faces.”

RIIZE’s affection for this comeback was evident throughout the various promotions leading up to this comeback. The album not only reflects their musical evolution but also serves as a heartfelt message to fans. From the emotional depth of tracks like “The End of the Day”–a sentimental ballad that captures the members’ desire to start and end each day with their fans—to the vibrant energy of “Fly Up,” the album provides a well-rounded glimpse into the group’s artistic identity.

Following the release of ODYSSEY, RIIZE will kick off their first global tour, “2025 RIIZE CONCERT TOUR [RIIZING LOUD],“ starting July in Seoul. The tour will then take them to 14 cities across Japan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, marking an exciting new chapter for the rising K-pop act as they connect with fans worldwide.
