Eight finalists from Mnet’s K-pop trainee competition program “Debut’s Plan" (Starship Entertainment)

Starship Entertainment, the K-pop agency behind groups such as Ive and Mosta X, is launching a new boy group called IDID in the second half of this year.

The group consists of eight finalists from Mnet’s K-pop trainee competition program “Debut’s Plan," which aired from March 14 until Sunday.

The members of IDID were chosen after weeks of rigorous competition, with the final lineup comprising Kim Min-jae, Jang Yong-hoon, Baek Jun-hyuk, Park Won-bin, Chu Yoo-chan, Jeong Se-min, Park Jun-hwan and Park Seung-hyeon.

The members were selected based on a combination of audience votes and board evaluations after the “Semi-Final Live” round. The final votes, which included a week of public voting and a 50 percent contribution from the board’s score, solidified Kim as the top finalist. Jang, who was a strong contender throughout, finished second, creating a friendly rivalry with Kim.

Another notable moment was Park Seung-hyeon, who earned his spot in the group as the eighth member through the "Debut’s Super Pass,” a choice by the board, completing the final lineup for IDID.

The eight members expressed their gratitude and excitement during a live broadcast, thanking fans for their continued support.

The group name, IDID, represents their unwavering determination to succeed through hard work and perseverance.
