Nami cherry blossoms

The cherry blossom festival on Nami Island in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, will run through April 20.

It will feature trails, performances, craft shops, pedal boats and snack booths. Adult admission is 16,000 won.

ITX runs from Cheongnyangni Station to Gapyeong Station. A 10-minute bus ride from there will take you to the dock that has a ferry to the island.

Tulips in Jangheung

Skylight Garden in Jangheung-gun, South Jeolla Province, is a place to check out all varieties of tulips.

The garden is home to some 1,000 varieties of flowers and 300 types of trees, and has ponds and small pools where children can splash about.

Camping zones on the compound require additional fees. Admission is 5,000 won for adults. The garden is an hour drive from Gwangju.

Spring festival in Yangjae

A festival with everything — from cherry blossoms to live performances and food trucks — is running at the Yangjae Stream Waterside Stage between the First and Second Yeongdong bridges in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

Through May 25, visitors are welcome to drop by to enjoy illuminated paths lined with cherry blossom trees, opera singers, street performers and street food. Booths are selling handcrafts, traditional and modern.

Light festival in Daejeon

Stop by this light festival at Daecheong Lake Eco Park in Daejeon that showcases a variety of performances including K-pop, traditional Korean drums and orchestral music.

The performances will take place on weekends during the Daedeok Water Light Festival, which runs through April 26.

Installations dotting the park areas near Daedeok Lake will light up through May 6. Entry is free.

Han River guide tours

Free guided tours of historic sites near and around the Han River will run through November.

The tours will start at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily at 16 spots, evenly divided to the south and north of the river.

Make reservations five days in advance at visit-hangang.seoul.kr. Text messages will be sent out once reservations are made or if a tour is canceled.
