Samsung Electronics announced on Dec. 6 the launch of its “One UI 7″ beta program, introducing advanced “Galaxy AI” capabilities and upgraded security features. The program began rolling out on Dec. 5.

The One UI 7 beta is being released sequentially in South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, and India. It is available exclusively for Galaxy S24 series devices, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24+, and S24. Eligible users can join the program by applying through the Samsung Members app on their smartphones.

Participants will have early access to One UI 7′s innovative features, including the advanced Galaxy AI and strengthened personal data protection tools, while also providing feedback to Samsung. The company plans to use this input to fine-tune the final version of One UI 7 ahead of its official launch.

One UI 7 introduces system-wide integration of generative AI-powered text editing tools, such as text summarization, spell checking, and grammar correction. Previously confined to specific applications, these capabilities are now embedded at the system level, enabling seamless access across devices without switching apps.

The update also features a new “call transcript” function, which automatically converts recorded phone conversations into text when activated, eliminating additional manual steps.

Home screen, lock screen, and widget customization options have been expanded, allowing users to personalize their displays with new widget designs and freely arrange app icons.

Additionally, a new notification feature, the “Now Bar,” has been introduced to the lock screen. It provides real-time updates on activities such as music playback, translations, and health data at a glance. Samsung confirmed that the Now Bar, along with other next-generation AI features, will debut officially with next year’s Galaxy S series.
