Demining training center for Ukrainian forces

The Ukrainian State Demining Service claims to have destroyed more than 200,000 explosive objects since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Soldiers deployed on the frontline, as well as civilians working in rural areas near the front, are constantly exposed to landmines. According to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ukraine is currently the most mined country in the world, with estimates suggesting that up to 23 percent of its territory may be contaminated by landmines and unexploded ordnance.
