(Hanwha Ocean Co.)
Hanwha Ocean Co. has secured an order for two LNG carriers from a Greek shipping company, bringing its total orders for 2024 to $7.8 billion.

The company announced Monday that it received an order for two LNG carriers worth 713.5 billion won ($510 million) from Maran Gas Maritime Inc., a subsidiary of the Angelicoussis Group, Greece‘s largest shipping group. The Angelicoussis Group is Hanwha Ocean’s largest customer, having ordered 123 vessels from the company since its first order in 1994.

The new LNG carriers will be built at Hanwha‘s Geoje shipyard, with delivery scheduled for 2027. The deal also includes an option for two additional ships, potentially leading to further orders.

Hanwha Ocean’s total orders for 2024 to date are the highest among individual Korean shipbuilders.
