LG unveils AI-enhanced, energy-efficient washers and dryers

South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc. is setting its sights on a solid segment of business-to-business (B2B) with its new lineup of commercial washers and dryers that feature artificial intelligence (AI) and energy-efficient technologies.

The company introduced its latest collection of high-capacity commercial laundry machines at Texcare International, a four-day international trade fair for the laundry industry held in Frankfurt, Germany that opened on Wednesday.

LG Professional-labeled offerings include washing machines with capacities of 20 and 30 kilograms, dryers with 30 and 25-kilogram capacities, and a combined washer-dryer model that performs both functions in a single unit. The lineup uses AI to make washing and drying much more efficient by detecting the laundry load, adjusting water and detergent usage, and enhancing dehydration for faster wash times.

LG Electronics is also the first in the industry to incorporate heat pump drying technology into its commercial washer-dryer combos.
