Coupang to build new advanced fulfillment center in Gimcheon

South Korea’s largest online retail platform company Coupang Inc. will invest 100 billion won ($71.3 million) to build a new advanced fulfillment center (FC) in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province.

According to Gimcheon City on Thursday, Coupang will build the Gimcheon Advanced Fulfillment Center on a 31,735.5-square-meter site at an industrial complex. The facility is set for completion by September 2025.

Once completed, it is expected to create more than 500 jobs and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.

“We aim to work with the local community by revitalizing the local economy and creating quality jobs,” said Coupang Chief Executive Officer Park Dae-jun.

Gimcheon Mayor Kim Chung-seop added, “We will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the logistics center.”
