LG CNS unveils AI solution Enerdict for virtual power plant operators

LG CNS announced Wednesday the launch of its artificial intelligence (AI) solution, “Enerdict,” designed to support virtual power plant (VPP) operators and drive its expansion into power brokerage solutions. VPPs connect small, distributed renewable energy sources like solar and wind farms nationwide via information and communication technology (ICT), enabling them to function as a unified power plant.

Power generation has traditionally been centrally managed, but VPPs allow locally produced energy to be efficiently distributed to nearby consumers.

Due to the decentralized nature of their operations, VPP operators often face challenges in executing “dispatch instructions,” which prioritize power generation from the lowest-cost sources; Enerdict addresses this issue by automatically optimizing power output among VPP plants, providing a streamlined solution for energy distribution.
