Producers of KBS 2TV’s variety show "The Return of Superman" (2013-) announced Wednesday that it has deleted all previous clips featuring FT Island member Choi Min-hwan. Choi is currently under investigation for sex trafficking and was regular on the show, showcasing his life as a single parent to three children.
"For the sake of protecting the children, we have deleted the scenes featuring Choi and his children from all the official videos as well as clips on the official YouTube channel,” the producers said in a statement.
Choi's ex-wife Yulhee, who is former member of girl group Laboum, recently exposed that her ex-husband allegedly visited prostitution facilities and abused her in a 37-minute video uploaded to her YouTube channel on Oct. 24. The police received requests from fans and other netizens to investigate Choi on charges of violating the Act on the Punishment of Prostitution, initiating a pre-investigation inquiry. Amid the growing controversy, FNC Entertainment announced Choi’s suspension of activities on Oct. 24.
Choi is currently sitting out of FT Island's activities, leaving Lee Hong-ki and Lee Jae-jin to promote as a two-piece band. FNC Entertainment, Choi's agency, said Tuesday that it will hire a session musician to fill in for Choi from Nov. 2. Choi played drums in the band.
