Netflix's hit show "Culinary Class Wars" runner-up Edward Lee will "explore the intersections of food, culture and identity" with LA County Library, according to the library’s press release on Friday.
Chef Lee will sit down with LA County Library CEO Skye Patrick to discuss his latest culinary book, “Bourbon Land: A Spirited Love Letter to My Old Kentucky Whiskey,” on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
The new release, a follow-up to “Buttermilk Graffiti” (2018), features 50 recipes that highlight Kentucky whiskey's flavors.
“Edward Lee’s contributions to the literary world are a testament to the power of food as a storyteller, a cultural connector, and a reflection of identity. Whether you’re a fan of his television appearances, a foodie, or someone who simply loves engaging in meaningful conversations, this event will offer something for everyone," said Patrick in the library’s press release. "We’re excited to offer this enriching experience to our community.”
Korean American chef Edward Lee is currently the owner of 610 Magnolia in Louisville, Kentucky. He is well-known in Korea for being the guest chef for the White House state dinner with U.S. President Biden and Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol last year. He has published three books and is also a celebrity chef, appearing in the third season of U.S. broadcaster PBS’s documentary “The Mind of a Chef” (2015) for which he received an Emmy nomination.
