Jeju Air holds the ‘10 Million Festival’ to celebrate reaching 10 million Refresh Point members. (Jeju Air)
Jeju Air Co. has become the first South Korean low-cost carrier (LCC) to have more than 10 million official members, the company said on Monday.

This milestone comes almost nine years after the airline launched its Refresh Point membership program in November 2015 to expand the scope and accumulation rate of points.

Jeju Air’s official membership count reached 1.3 million within a year of the program’s launch, growing to 2.5 million in 2017, 5 million in 2020, 8 million in 2023, and topping 10 million as of October 2024.

This means that one out of every five people in Korea is a Jeju Air member and unlike other airlines’ mileage programs, Jeju Air’s point system allows members to purchase tickets without seat restrictions and even gift points to others, making it highly versatile.

Members can also use points not only for purchasing tickets but also for additional services such as pre-paid baggage and pre-ordered in-flight meals. They also receive various benefits depending on their membership tier, including Silver, Silver Plus, Gold, and VIP, including up to 10 percent point accumulation on airfare, exclusive discount codes for members, pre-selected seating, priority boarding, and additional or prioritized checked baggage services.

“We are operating a differentiated membership program with the goal of ‘sharing the experience of happy travels with more people as we challenge ourselves to broaden our skies,’” a Jeju Air official said. “We will continue to improve our services to ensure that air travel becomes even more convenient from the customer‘s perspective.”
