Supporters of NC and INC parties celebrated as their party candidates are leading in the Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly polls. The counting for the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly polls is underway, with 873 candidates contesting on 90 seats. These were the first Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls held in 10 years and also the first since the abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian constitution that ended the semi-autonomous character of the region on 05 August 2019, and downgrading and dividing Jammu and Kashmir state into federally administered two union territories of J&K and Ladakh.
