NASA-SpaceX-Hera spacecraft pre-launch preparations

Due to inclement weather, approaching Tropical Storm Milton, NASA is canceling today’s events around the SpaceX-Hera spacecraft on a SpaceX 9 rocket (not in the photo) that is docked on the Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) as part of its launch preparations at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Cape Canaveral. According to the European Space Agency, Hera, a spacecraft developed by the European Space Agency for its Space Safety program, will perform a detailed post-impact survey of the target asteroid, the orbiting moonlet of a binary asteroid system known as Didymos, as part of the world’s first test of asteroid deflection.
