Maghzaoui affirmed that his campaign was based on volunteer work, stressing that he had in no way exceeded the financial ceiling of the elections. He sent a message to those who called for a boycott of the elections, saying that the cost of change outside the ballot box is not easy and that there is no alternative but to vote and choose who will lead the next stage, reiterating his solidarity with the number 1 candidate, Ayachi Zammel, following the imposition of prison sentences. Zammel was jailed in four cases related to voter endorsements, his legal representative, Abdessater Massoudi said on 01 October. The electoral body, ISIE, has approved three candidates, Tunisian President Kais Saied, 66, running for a second term, Zouhair Maghzaoui, 59, a former MP and Ayachi Zammel, 43, an industrialist.
