Musee Rodin inaugurates first international outpost in Shanghai

The Musee Rodin has opened its first international outpost, Centre d'Art Rodin, in Shanghai, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of France-China diplomatic ties. The new venue, exhibiting around 50 works by the famed sculptor, Auguste Rodin, is backed by the French Ministry of Culture and China?s State Administration of Cultural Heritage, with additional private funding from French-Chinese art collector Wu Jing. Located in the waterfront Pudong New Area in Shanghai, the building was originally constructed to house the French pavilion at Expo 2010, designed by French architect Jacques Ferrier.
