Samsung unveils affordable Galaxy S24 FE with AI features

Samsung Electronics Co. on Friday unveiled the Galaxy S24 Fan Edition (FE), an affordable smartphone with artificial intelligence (AI) features.

The FE model combines key performances of Samsung Electronics’ flagship S series and lower specifications for budget-conscious consumers.

The latest FE model supports the same Galaxy AI functions as the Galaxy S24 series.

The device includes the AI-based Pro-Visual Engine, which enhances image quality across features. Its improved high dynamic range (HDR) capability provides Super HDR quality for photography and other media experiences.

The Galaxy AI-based Photo Assist enables professional-level content editing, and the generative editing feature allows users to move or resize objects in photos.

The device is powered by the Exynos 2400e application processor, and its vapor chamber for heat dissipation is 1.1 times larger than that of its predecessor.

It features a dynamic AMOLED 2X display measuring approximately 170.1 mm, with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, along with a large 4,700 mAh battery.

The smartphone also offers AI-based functionalities such as search, interpretation, chat assist, and note assist, complemented by privacy features like Knox Vault and secure Wi-Fi.

Samsung Electronics plans to provide a 7th-generation operating system (OS) upgrade and seven years of security updates for this device.

The Galaxy S24 FE will be released sequentially starting October 3, with the domestic release schedule to be announced later.

The price in the United States is set at $649.99 for the 128GB model and $709.99 for the 256GB model.
