The Athletics played their last game in Oakland since moving to the Bay Area in 1968. The Athletics will be the first Major League Baseball franchise to have moved on four different occasions. The A's started in Philadelphia in 1901, moved to Kansas City in 1955, then to Oakland in 1968, and will move to a temporary location in Sacramento next year, until their new stadium in Las Vegas is built in 2028.
