Learning center provides free education to about 450 children in Kabul

Naqibullah Atel, a construction engineer and head of an educational center in Kabul, is dedicated to providing free education for orphans and underprivileged children. With his limited income, Atel allocates half of his earnings to support these students, supplying them with essential learning materials such as books and pens at no cost. Currently, 70 percent of the 380 students, including 70 girls and 310 boys, receive free education, while the remaining 30 percent pay a nominal fee of 140 Afghanis (approximately 2 US dollar) per month. Atel emphasizes the importance of support from the government, businesses, and philanthropists to expand educational opportunities for more deprived children, stating, 'I ask for help to continue my work so that I can provide educational opportunities for other children who are deprived of education.' Girls above the sixth grade cannot attend school, according to a Taliban government decree, which has persisted for the past three years.
