Gmarket and Auction, e-commerce platforms under South Korea’s Shinsegae Group, announced on Thursday that they have partnered with local governments, including Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, to support small businesses.

In collaboration with Gyeonggi Province, the platforms will assist over 100 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) located in the province. Gmarket and Auction will launch a dedicated sales section called the “Gyeonggi Province Win-Win Center” to promote local businesses. They will also provide consulting and education services to help these businesses enhance their online sales presence.

In partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Gmarket and Auction will extend support to more than 400 small businesses in the city. By the end of 2024, they will open an online marketplace titled “e-Seoul Love Shop#,” showcasing around 1,700 high-quality products from small businesses. To boost sales, participating sellers will also receive 100,000 won in promotional e-money, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The platforms will also host a “Small Business Win-Win Market” to aid 558 small business owners affected by delayed payments from TMON and WeMakePrice. This program will feature over 2,400 products from impacted vendors, offering them an additional opportunity to recover from the financial disruptions.
