Kakao, child protection center partner to protect youngsters

Kakao Corp. announced a partnership with a child abuse prevention center to protect its teenage and younger users from sexual crimes.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between Kakao and the child protection center Stand Up Against Sex-Trafficking of Minors, the duo will work together on developing protections, sharing information on new types of crimes against teenagers, and opening a hotline for victims to report crimes in chat rooms.

Kakao will receive data from the center on terms used to facilitate sexual violence against minors, as well as information on new types of crimes on social media. The company will also provide financial support alongside other products and services that the center requires to help victims of sexual crimes.
