Traditional liquor platform secures $7.5 mn investment

South Korean traditional liquor curation and distribution platform Daedongyeojudo announced on Tuesday that it has secured a 10 billion won ($7.53 million) investment from Sinaju Group. Known for its rigorous curation process, Daedongyeojudo has been selecting and promoting high-quality liquors from across the country and has consulted with over 300 breweries nationwide to showcase more than 2,000 different products.

The company is dedicated to setting new standards for Korean liquor and has played a pivotal role in developing the premium traditional liquor market. It offers a wide range of services to breweries, including product development, marketing, promotion, and distribution, which are aimed at expanding the reach of Korean liquors.

Sinaju Group, founded in 1981 and a subsidiary of the larger Aju Group, operates across various industries, including automotive, real estate, and social contributions. The group started with Sangbong Bus Terminal and later expanded into automotive dealerships, including Auto Platz, an official Volkswagen dealer, and Stella Automobiles, a Maserati dealership founded in 2021. The company is currently redeveloping the Sangbong Terminal area into a cultural landmark.

With this new investment, Daedongyeojudo plans to collaborate with Sinaju Group to expand its efforts in supporting and nurturing Korean breweries. The partnership will focus on providing infrastructure such as construction, equipment, and facilities, while also assisting with commercialization, branding, marketing, distribution, and exports. The goal is to help breweries concentrate on production while Daedongyeojudo drives the creation of market-leading premium products.
