‘Symbols of Longevity featuring Mickey Mouse’ Painting by artist Heuk Yo Suk. (Korea Heritage Service)
Walt Disney’s beloved characters, including Mickey Mouse and friends, are exploring Korean culture and royal heritage at Deoksugung Palace in Seoul.

The Korea Heritage Service’s Royal Palaces and Tombs Center announced Monday that the art exhibition, titled “Mickey in the Palace: Art Beyond Boundaries” will open on Saturday in cooperation with The Walt Disney Company Korea LLC.

The exhibition will feature nine artworks by young artists and practitioners of intangible cultural heritage, including “Symbols of Longevity featuring Mickey Mouse” by Woo Na-young (known as Heuk Yo Suk), inspired by the traditional Korean royal painting, “Ten Symbols of Longevity.”

Various photo zones will be set up around Deoksugung Palace throughout the exhibition to allow visitors to take pictures with Disney character sculptures. The exhibition runs through October 20th, 2024.
