Gmarket to launch guaranteed delivery service with CJ Logistics

Gmarket Inc. will launch a new guaranteed delivery service called Star Delivery in collaboration with CJ Logistics Corp. on Thursday.

This service is designed to ensure that customers receive their orders on time, with compensation provided for any delays.

The initiative is part of a broader partnership between CJ Group and Shinsegae Group, which was formalized in June.

Under the latest partnership, Gmarket, one of Korea’s major e-commerce platforms under Shinsegae, will rely on CJ Logistics to handle the crucial last-mile delivery for Star Delivery.

The collaboration is aimed at boosting Gmarket’s competitive edge in the logistics sector while allowing CJ Logistics to showcase its efficiency and scale.

CJ Logistics, the country’s largest logistics company, will provide the infrastructure and delivery network to support the service.

Star Delivery promises to deliver purchases by the agreed date, and in cases where delivery is late, Gmarket will compensate customers with 1,000 won ($0.75) in SmileCash, which can be used on both Gmarket and Auction.

The service will be available for about 150,000 products across 14 categories, including household goods, processed food, kitchen supplies, beauty products, and select electronics.
