더 깊고 단단해진 강다니엘…활동 2막 'ACT' 시작 [MD신곡]

[마이데일리 = 이예주 기자] 가수 강다니엘이 약 1년 3개월 만에 가요계로 돌아왔다. 새 보금자리를 찾은 후 처음으로 선보이는 앨범이기에 더욱 뜻깊다.
23일 오후 6시 강다니엘은 각종 온라인 음원 사이트를 통해 다섯번째 미니앨범 '액트(ACT)'를 발매했다. 타이틀곡은 '일렉트릭 쇼크(Electric Shock)'으로, 강다니엘은 중독성 강하면서도 역동적인 음악을 전한다.
'액트' 앨범은 데뷔 7주년을 맞은 강다니엘 만의 이야기를 '연극'이라는 소재로 풀어냈다. 이에 따라 여섯 개의 트랙도 일정한 기승전결을 갖췄다. 강다니엘이 앨범 전곡 작사에 참여한 만큼, 아티스트로서 강다니엘이 해왔던 고뇌와 내적 성찰이 가사에 고스란히 묻어난다.
음악적 성장도 엿볼 수 있다. 강다니엘은 직접 작곡가 NØLL, CHANDO, Michael Lanza 등과 소통하며 앨범 작업 전반을 지휘했으며, 자신의 목소리만이 가진 강점을 살려 곡의 개성을 더했다. 이번 앨범을 통해 강다니엘이 솔로 아티스트로서의 방향성을 어느정도 찾은 모습이다.
뮤직비디오 역시 강다니엘만의 독특한 개성을 담아냈다. '무대 위' 그리고 '무대 아래'에서 서로 상반된 삶을 살아가는 두 명의 강다니엘은 뮤직비디오 말미 안경을 착용하는 모습으로 그가 찾게 된 '해답'을 간접적으로 보여준다. 이외에도 뮤직비디오는 독창적인 색감과 파워풀한 퍼포먼스, 사랑스러운 전개 등으로 볼거리를 더한다.
이번 앨범을 통해 강다니엘은 댄스크루 위댐보이즈와 함께 퍼포먼스를 완성하며 그의 강점을 극대화할 예정이다. 이외에도 가수 청하가 4번 트랙 '컴백투미(Come back to me)'에 참여하며 완성도를 높였다.
7년 간 다사다난하고도 파란만장한 활동을 이어갔던 강다니엘의 활동 2막이 드디어 펼쳐졌다. 더욱 깊어지고 뚜렷해진 그의 음악적 세계가 리스너에게 어떤 모습으로 다가갈지 주목된다.
