CU expands cup coffee lineup for autumn season

With the demand for cup coffee peaking during the autumn season, South Korean convenience store chain CU is expanding its offerings to cater to consumers.

CU announced the launch of three premium cup coffee products in collaboration with Mirukku Coffee, a popular cafe located in Bamlidan-gil, Ilsan on Sunday. The new selections include the “Flat Spanner Latte,” “Flat Grey Latte,” and “Flat Nutty Latte.”

Convenience stores sell various ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages such as cup coffee, canned coffee, bottled coffee, and PET bottled coffee. Among these, cup coffee holds high demand, accounting for 41.7 percent of total RTD sales and is particularly popular during autumn.

To replicate the taste of Mirukku Coffee, the new products have increased raw milk content to between 33 and 35 percent. To commemorate the launch, CU is offering a “buy one, get one free” promotion until the end of September 2024.
