Korea Ginseng Company's Jung Kwan Jang released its Ginseng Snow Cool Stick on Friday, a ginseng product without the bitter taste and strong scent that the ingredient is best known for.
Instead, the new edible ginseng powder stick features refreshing peach and xylitol-based flavors.
The development of “colorless, odorless and flavorless” ginseng was to deviate from the perception, especially from foreigners, that ginseng can taste bitter, the Korea Ginseng Company said in a press release Friday.
“Through constant research and development, the company was able to produce a new lineup that retains the active ingredient of ginseng while allowing customers to enjoy ginseng without the flavor and scent that it is known for,” the company said.
The powder will “melt in the mouth” as it uses the company’s new Snow Melting technology in the production.
The new ginseng stick also includes vitamin C, chicory root extracts and xylitol and is sugar-free.
The flavorless and odorless ginseng will be applied to the Korea Ginseng Company’s overseas ginseng lineup in the future.
