Signiel Busan was named Asia's Leading Beach Hotel by the 2024 World Travel Awards on Thursday.
The annual award vets its winners through some 160 tourism industry experts and travelers.
Other hotels nominated in the same category included Haian Beach Hotel & Spa, Mường Thanh Luxury Da Nang Hotel, Mường Thanh Luxury Nha Trang Hotel and The Imperial Hotel in Vietnam, and Royal Cliff Grand Hotel in Thailand.
"Signiel Busan received favorable reviews for its prime location right in front of Haeundae’s white sands beach and top-class facilities," the hotel said in a statement the same day. “In particular, the infinity pool with a panoramic view of the azure sea offers a variety of landscapes throughout the seasons, which has been met with positive customer experiences."
In June, the hotel was also selected as the Best Hotel in Korea and the Best Luxury Hotel by Tripadvisor's 2024 Travelers' Choice Awards.
Signiel Busan is a five-star hotel in the southern port city of Busan, 325 kilometers (202 miles) from Seoul. Run by Lotte Hotels & Resorts, Korea's largest hotel group, the hotel was founded in 2016. It has 260 rooms, including 41 suites, and facilities like five F&B venues, indoor and outdoor pools, a kids' lounge, a sauna and a garden terrace.
