SK hynix Inc.’s portable solid-state drive (SSD), the Beetle X31, is gaining traction with its latest video advertisement.

The company announced Friday that the U.S. ad for the Beetle X31 has garnered more than 6.2 million views on social media platforms, including YouTube and Instagram, since its debut in early August 2024.

First released in 2023, the X31 marks SK hynix‘s entry into the external SSD market, offering high performance, portability, and a sleek design.

The advertisement takes on a blockbuster science fiction vibe, featuring dynamic action scenes and a storyline centered around a portal device that navigates through space. It follows an intelligence agent who uses the Beetle X31 to infiltrate enemy territory and recover stolen data.

The ad has received positive feedback from viewers, with many eagerly anticipating the next episode. “We chose a storytelling approach to highlight the product’s benefits to users,” the company said.
