Samsung Electronics announced on Thursday that it provided over 15,000 Galaxy devices during the recently concluded 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics, which concluded with the Paralympics closing ceremony on September 8th, 2024.

As an official partner of both the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Samsung operated its “Open Always Wins” campaign, which included the “Victory Selfie” program whereby athletes captured their triumphant moments on the podium. A total of 293 victory selfies were taken by athletes using the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition, and over 17,000 athletes were given the special edition devices.

Samsung provided a total of around 7,000 Galaxy smartphones, 3,000 Galaxy Tab devices, and 5,000 Galaxy Book laptops for use during the Olympics and Paralympics, including for broadcasting the opening ceremonies and yachting events.

Samsung also distributed 350,000 Olympic pins to visitors at its four Olympic experience centers in Paris. A Samsung spokesperson said that visitors were able to experience the company’s 40-year Olympic heritage and the Galaxy series’ latest AI-powered innovations.
