Kakao Pay, HD Hyundai Heavy partner up for easy in-house points use

South Korean mobile payment system operator Kakao Pay Corp. announced on Thursday that it entered into a strategic partnership with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (HD HHI) to link its Kakao Pay Points with HD Safety Pay Points.

This is the first instance in the shipbuilding industry where in-house points used for employee welfare are linked with a simple payment system.

Under the partnership, HD HHI Employees and its partner companies who use the integrated health, safety, and environment (HSE) management system app can freely convert their HD Safety Pay Points into Kakao Pay Points and use them at the mobile payment company‘s online and offline affiliated stores.

Kakao Pay plans to continue forming partnerships with various companies following this agreement.
