POSCO International Corp., the trading arm of South Korea’s POSCO Group, announced on Thursday that it has received its first-ever credit ratings from global agencies Standard & Poor’s (S&P) and Moody’s.

S&P assigned POSCO International a credit rating of BBB+, while Moody’s rated the company at Baa2.

Both agencies assessed the company’s credit outlook as stable.

According to S&P, a BBB- rating and above is considered investment grade, while Moody’s requires a Baa3 rating and above for the same classification.

Despite potential risks stemming from economic conditions, both agencies have given POSCO International ratings that are comfortably above the minimum threshold.

Other Korean companies that have received a BBB+ rating from S&P include LG Energy Solution Ltd., LG Chem Ltd., and Hyundai Glovis Co.
