Allerman expands cool bedding line amid unusual heatwave

South Korean bedding company Allerman has significantly expanded its cool bedding lineup as the ongoing heatwave and tropical nights drive up demand for cooling products.

According to the company on Thursday, it introduced a wider variety of cooling bedding products, including cooling quilts, pads, pillow covers, topper pads, carpets, and sofa cushions in 2024 compared to the previous year.

The company has also launched new items made from rayon, a material popular for summer bedding.

Allerman’s strategy to offer a broad selection of cooling products has paid off, with sales increasing by more than 70 percent this year from a year ago.

The products have been well-received by consumers, particularly for their effectiveness during the hot summer months.

A key feature of Allerman’s cooling products is the use of Duraron Cool fabric, developed by the Korean textile company Huvis.

This fabric achieved a top score of 0.403 in the Q-max cooling index during contact cooling tests. A Q-max score above 0.2 is recognized as effective in providing a cooling sensation.

The products have also received the Oeko-Tex certification for eco-friendly textile quality and an Excellent rating from Germany’s Dermatest for ingredient safety. The bedding also features Allerman’s proprietary Allergy X-Cover fabric, ensuring superior comfort and durability.
