Shinhan Bank has become the first commercial bank in South Korea to introduce a consultation visualization service using artificial intelligence-based speech-to-text technology.

The service, which is called Banking for Everyone, is available at kiosks in bank branches. It uses transparent display panels to convert spoken words between employees and customers into text and display them in real-time. The service not only translates employee speech into Korean text, but also offers translation into five other languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Indonesian.

Banking for Everyone aims to improve communication with customers who are hard of hearing, including the hearing impaired and senior citizens, as well as foreign customers, making banking services truly more accessible to everyone.
