SGC E&C Co., a South Korean engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company, announced on Tuesday that it has recently won chemical facility contracts worth 490 billion won ($368 million) in Saudi Arabia.

SGC E&C signed a 230 billion won contract with Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) for a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) and polypropylene (PP) plant on Monday. The deal follows a 260 billion won contract signed earlier in August with Sipchem to build an ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) production facility.

The PDH/PP facility will produce propylene through the PDH process, which will then be combined with ethylene to manufacture polypropylene.

SGC E&C will handle the entire EPC process for these projects.

Earlier this year, SGC E&C won two other significant contracts in Saudi Arabia, including a 690 billion won ethylene and propylene plant and a 250 billion won isopropyl alcohol facility.

This brings the company’s total new orders in Saudi Arabia to over 1.4 trillion won for 2024.

The company has also expanded its global portfolio by securing a 332.3 billion won contract for a chemical plant project in Malaysia.
