Typhoon Yanyan approches southwestern Japan

epa11568166 Rescue workers search for missing residents living at a house collapsed by heavy rain triggered by typhoon Yanyan, in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture, central Japan, 28 August 2024. Two members of a five-person family buried by the landslide were rescued. The Japan Meteorological Agency stated on 28 August 2024 that it may issue a special warning for strong winds, high waves, high tides and heavy rain for southwestern Japan as typhoon Yanyan approaches Kagoshima Prefecture. The agency also announced the typhoon is expected to cause immense damage all over Japan as it is expected to course along Japanese islands.
