Cube Entertainment's newest boy band Nowadays released its second single "Nowhere" on Tuesday with the goal to become the No. 1 rookie of the year.
"Nowhere" comes four months since Nowadays debuted in April with its self-titled album and just a month after its digital single "Rainy Day" was released last month.
The five-member boy band is Cube Entertainment's first new boy band in eight years since Pentagon and its first new group in six years since girl group (G)I-DLE. The members are Hyeonbin, Yoon, Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk and Siyun.
"We really believe that we've grown since our debut," Hyeonbin told reporters during a showcase held on Tuesday at the Yes24 Live Hall music venue in eastern Seoul. "We're not afraid of anything because we believe that we have infinite potential."
Lead track "Why Not?" is a hip-hop dance track that shows a free-spirited young man in love featuring playful lyrics of his friends making fun of the cute love, according to the band's agency.
"The song is really high-pitched, but we were able to pull it off because we practiced to improve our vocal and rap skills," Hyeonbin said.
The single also includes two b-sides — "Heart vs Head" and "Troublesome."
"We debuted without knowing anything as trainees," Hyeonbin added. "But we really believe that we can show you more as we keep growing."
