The Israeli military announced on 20 August that the bodies of six Israeli hostages -- named as Yagev Buchshtab, Nadav Popplewell, Avraham Munder, Yoram Metzger, Haim Perry and Alexander Dancyg -- were recovered from the Gaza Strip during an overnight military operation. The six Israelis had been abducted and taken to the Gaza Strip during the 07 October 2023 attacks by Hamas and were killed over the course of the ensuing conflict.
